For over 100 years, a rusty fence of great historical significance has stood at Munich's east station. It was here that one of the most iconic photos of Sophie Scholl was taken, as she bid farewell to her brothers and friends departing for the front. Now, the fence is set to be removed to make way for a construction project. A fateful encounter between two people links the present and future of a seemingly transient place.
